Corso di inglese a Sydney
Sono in Australia da circa 4 mesi con un Working Holiday Visa. Ho iniziato la mia avventura con corso di inglese di 10 settimane alla ELC nel cuore di Sydney. Inizialmente avevo optato per un corso di 6 settimane ma, dal momento che il mi livello era davvero elementare, ho deciso di prolungare il corso di altre 4 settimane e questo ha fatto una grande differenza! I corsi sono davvero efficaci, 5 ore al giorno sono utilissime per migliorare. Quello che davvero mi è piaciuto del corso è che ero con studenti provenienti da tutto il mondo (brasiliani, cinesi, giapponesi, colombiani, tedeschi…), il prof non parla che in inglese secondo il livello della classe in cui insegna. Infatti tutti migliorano allo stesso tempo e nessuno ha paura di lanciarsi nelle discussioni. Inoltre l’atmosfera è davvero rilassante e si creano facilmente delle amicizie. Per il momento ho perfezionato il moi accento, sono migliorata notevolmente all’orale e allo scritto e mi sono perfettamente ambientata allo stile di vita australiano.
Sydney è una città bellissima, è cara ma fortunatamente gli stipendi sono alti. Vado in spiaggia almeno 3 volte a settimana e tutti i week-end, in realtà anche se lavoro tutta la giornata, alle 17:30 sono in spiaggia e per questo week end ho in piano di andare alle Blue Mountains con i miei amici!
Per quanto riguarda il lavoro, c’è molta concorrenza dunque si riesce a trovare un posto se si ha una buona conoscenza dell’inglese. E’ molto semplice anche trovare dei compagni di stanza, Io ho trovato un amico brasiliano con il quale frequentavo il corso di inglese.
Per questo si usa moltissimo il passaparola quindi bisogna parlare con tutti per poter trovare la soluzione migliore per te stesso. E’ davvero molto semplice, diretto e pratico.

Se dovessi definire il servizio che ho ricevuto dall’ A+CAPEC direi che è stato assolutamente indispensabile. Sydney è una città strabiliante, ricca di cultura e con una grande personalità. Prima di partire per un viaggio come il mio, ci si fa un numero indefinito di domande, su come sarà la tua vita in un posto lontano 20.000 km da casa, come saranno le emozioni che si vivranno, quante esperienze farai ecc. e credo sia impossibile rimanere delusi dalle risposte che si ottengono giorno per giorno…
Ci sono momenti difficili in cui tutto quello che avevi ti manca, ma poi basta aprire gli occhi e rendersi conto che alla fine qui si vive bene e che è solo una questione di abitudine.
Vivendo negli appartamenti dell’università ci si crea la possibilità di socializzare con un numero infinito di persone che stanno vivendo la tua stessa esperienza, ed inoltre, si ha la possibilità di conoscere, scoprire, capire ed apprezzare diverse culture. Questo è lo spirito che si respira in Australia ed anche qui alla Macquarie.
La prima volta che ho messo piede nel campus, sono rimasto estremamente colpito dalla sua vastità e dal magnifico contrasto che si crea tra natura ed edifici. Vivere e studiare in un ambiente come questo, così lontano dalla realtà di casa è esaltante, sedersi sul prato a bordo del lago o lungo la passeggiata tra gli alberi con i pappagalli che cantano è davvero impagabile.

I am still amazed at how much I was able to learn in my years at Macquarie, something that was unimaginable to me when I started the course. I found out that the people at UniSA invest a lot of time in understanding and looking after their international students because of the vast amount of international students studying here every year.
I hope to become an expert in the field of sales and then move on to the next level and include some more aspects of marketing in my field of experience.
My ambition is to work abroad in a marketing/sales position. To do this you need a good theoretical background and the right up to date knowledge. You also need practical experience, which you can gain at UniSA through real life examples in the field you are studying in.
My advice is to learn every year you have worked, move on to the the next level, never sit still and make sure you keep on challenging yourself.

The campus of La Trobe University is very big compared to a classic University. The Language Centre is situated in the South of the main campus. Its location explains its independence and also why it’s quieter. But it’s easy to go to the main campus with the campus bus (2 minutes) or for a walk (5 minutes). On the main campus, you find a lot of restaurants, shops, a library, some bars and also a lot of people to practise your English with. The main campus is probably the best place to understand the young Australian culture.
